Valley Farm Pasture Fed Beef
Ethical, Sustainable, Regenerative Farming 100% Grass Fed Beef
Here at Valley Farm, we pride ourselves on producing premium quality, 100% pasture fed beef from native British cattle, in Lillingstone Lovell, in the beautiful countryside on the Buckinghamshire / Northamptonshire border.
We are David & Kathryn Atkinson, a fourth generation small family run farm, covering 70 hectares of permanent pasture of which all is encompassed within the Mid-Tier Countryside Stewardship scheme. We love the British countryside, are passionate about the rural environment and are keen to see the reduction of food miles and food waste, and believe strongly in traditional, slow-reared, grass-fed farming methods, the native breeds who work so well within it, with every animal being traceable.
We work with Aberdeen Angus & British Shorthorn cattle, both some of Britain’s oldest native breeds. They are famed for the succulence and flavour of their meat, which is tender and well marbled. They are also hardy, calm and well suited to an outdoor life. They thrive on a pure forage diet throughout their life and, unlike many modern beef breeds, they do not need to be intensively finished on cereal, soya and maize to achieve good carcass grades and weights.
Pasture fed meat has been shown to be lower in saturated fat and higher in Omega 3 fatty acids, CLA and vitamins B and E than cereal fed meat. We think it has a better flavour too. Pasture fed is also better for the cows’ welfare and the environment. You can find out more about this on our "Why pasture fed?" page.
Our aim is to produce the best meat with happy cows fed on a diverse pasture, whilst helping the environment.
The Pasture-Fed Livestock Association
Champions the virtues of grass-based farming and meat production. This is the only organisation in the UK that monitors and certifies producers as being genuinely 100% pasture fed. Our certification is a hugely important quality and standards mark that we are very proud of.

Good for British Farmers: Only produce from Red Tractor (or equivalent) certified farms can hold the Red Tractor logo. This means it can be traced right back through the supply chain to the British farms it came from.
Good for Animal Welfare: Animal welfare is the number one priority for all Red Tractor livestock farmers. They work tirelessly to ensure the wellbeing of their animals and have regular vet visits to ensure herd and flock health is maintained.
